It Appears to be Summer...

But it's not. Not summer and just barely spring. Oh well. 

"Unseasonably cold weather" says the meteorologist.

I wish it was the 4th of July.

I finally bought new plants for our deck and they've been camping "out" inside of our apartment because of the freezing temperatures we've had almost every night for the past few days.

So I choose to make art out of my gypsy plants.

Here's what it Actually looks like outside.

 I don't know how these little buddies have survived (although I guess they are succulents!)

There's a trick to getting her to look so awesome.

I simply waved my 79 cent American flag above my head.

A win/win.

The Problem with Film

.....is that there are hardly any physical places that will process my film!!! It's so frustrating. I'm scared to venture out into the world of "internet" to find a company that does just what I need it to do.

At this point, I have no choice. E-6 has now closed in ATL and that was where I was able to process all of my 120 film from college. PPR (ATL) also does not have the resources for processing but can scan film and provide other services (rental equipment, etc.). 

The time is NOW! I'm so ready to get this film out-the-door and back to me in a flash. Another disappointing factor is that I'm excluded from a big part of this artistic process. I have no control over time, temperature, and movement of chemicals washing over my rolls of film. I have to let the real professionals take it from here. I think I'm okay with that....just as long as it gets done and my film is still legible.

On these rolls are various seasons (literally) and stages of my life, taken on my Diana. Most are double-exposures so my excitement has been heightened. From these rolls of art, I will use them as classic photographic art as well as clips in many textile design ideas brewing in the back of my head.

Besides calling around town, I haven't looked too much on the internet for darkroom options, but my roommate found: Old School Photo Lab

And I found: The Darkroom

I'm excited to make the official move on mailing off my film to a distant, invisible storefront that will take care of my photographic needs. 

AND BELIEVE ME, I will tell you how it all turns out! Can't wait!
