Thanksgiving in Augusta

Home.

Shannon

Who says men can't make pies?

All the classic ingredients for a "mama meal".

Clean-up begins.
All worth the price of Thanksgiving festivities.

Charred Peppers Interrupted

And so my documentation begins:

Remove stems, ribs, and seeds.

Just. Like. That.

(I could easily cut those in strips and dip them in some hummus right now.)

No grill, but oiling up these peppers and popping them in the oven
for a few minutes on broil = success.

Unfortunately, Day Light Savings snatched my available light
before I could finish photographing
(and I was starving) ...

I turned my Pinterest fail into a strawberry smoothie.
Should have used wax paper.
Should have cut those strawberries into smaller pieces.
I'll try again and hopefully I can document a success.

Chomp & Stomp Chili Cook-Off and Bluegrass Festival

At last! Chili Cook-Off weekend has arrived!

From the beginning.
Picked up a friend at her Midtown studio.
While waiting, gazed through my sunroof.

Parked our car and walked to the festival.
Passed a Charlestonesque house.

Through the tunnel we go.

Officially in Cabbagetown.

 $5 a spoon begins here.

Pick a chili, any chili.
And then pick some more.

Not only "free beer" but free music.
...1 free beer if you like "Oliver's Antics" on FB.

This chili had ox tail in it!

Upper 70s in the beginning of November calls for a little ice cream.

Popsicle transaction happening.

KING OF POPS

Local ATL popsicle makers.
Unique and delicious flavors.

...then chili-goers get sloppy.

Spicy and sweet.

4 hours later we hit the road back home.
